The next Kylie lipkit shade up on the dupe list is Dolce K! This was one of the 3 original colors she released as part of her launch and since it has been around the longest, has more swatch comparisons with similar shades. So onto the dupe list!
The Dupes
1. Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lipstick in “Chi” ($6)
Now that I’ve done 4 dupe posts, it’s becoming evident how many similar shades Colour Pop and Kylie Cosmetics have in common. When I was researching and comparing swatches, many articles sited Colour Pop ‘Beeper’ as being a dupe for ‘Dolce K’. However, ‘Beeper’ is quite a bit darker with many more pink undertones. I found that ‘Chi’ was a much closer match to ‘Dolce K’. As you’ll see above, the colors are almost identical with the key difference being that ‘Dolce K’ has a slight warmer pink tone. 2. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Bow & Arrow” ($20)
Another brand of lipsticks that seems to have a lot of similar shades to Kylie’s are Kat Von D’s. Now I’m not saying Kat copied Kylie because we all know the tattooed beauty maven released her line of cosmetics long before the social media Queen. I’m just noting that I think it’s very possible Kylie got some of her inspiration from this successful line of lipsticks! Anyway, ‘Bow & Arrow’ is a very close shade but slightly lighter with a slight more pink tone to it. I personally have ‘Bow & Arrow’ and it’s actually one of my favorite liquid lipstick colors. 3. Lime Crime Velvetine Matte Lipstick in “Buffy” ($20)
Lately, Lime Crime has been releasing more colors than ever to their line of Velvetine Liquid Lipsticks and ‘Buffy’ happens to be a very close shade to ‘Dolce K’. The bronze Velvetine was originally released in a kit with 2 other lipsticks but is thankfully now available solo for purchase. I would say ‘Buffy’ is slightly lighter than ‘Dolce K’ but as you can from the swatches, they are pretty close to being identical. Buy at LIMECRIME.
4. NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Sandstorm” ($7)
A really great “dupe” for ‘Dolce K’ is the NYX Suede Cream Lipstick in ‘Sandstorm’. Not only is ‘Sandstorm’ very similar to the sold out lipkit, but it will cost you a whole lot less than the $30 + shipping price of a lipkit. I will note that ‘Sandstorm’ is slightly lighter with a slight more yellowish undertone but other than that, is a great alternative if you can’t get your hands on the sold out ‘Dolce K’. 5. Lipland Liquid Lipstick in “Aventus” ($18.99)
Last but certainly not least, we have the Lipland Liquid Lipstick in ‘Aventus’. The above swatch was the only comparison I could find, but it’s pretty visible that ‘Aventus’ is almost a dead ringer for ‘Dolce K’ with just a very slight yellower undertone. The Lipland lipsticks not only cost less but are just as high in quality as the lipkits. They also come packaged in very fancy bottles, which I personally find essential in creating a great lipstick.
