So I’m excited to announce a new section within my blog dedicated to product dupes! With the consistent release of new Essie collections, there is bound to be several dupes and one in particular that caught my eye was how similar Essie’s “Hip-Anema” and “Fifth Avenue” are. How To: July 4th Beauty
First off, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, my lovely readers! When I first began this post, it was originally going to be a tutorial for July 4th nails, but let’s be real, unless you have an incredibly steady hand & a ton of spare time, who wants to be painting tiny stars and stripes with a hair-thin brush?! My feelings exactly. As awesome as they look, it’s just not practical for everyone so I thought I would share my take on July 4th beauty and how to incorporate red, white, and blue into your beauty regime! Review: Essie “Avenue Maintain”
With the release of Essie’s Spring 2013 collection, nail fanatics everywhere are searching left and right to get their paws on at least one of these perfect pastel polishes. I luckily was able to snag the last “Avenue Maintain” and not till I applied the polish did I really realize why it was selling out everywhere. Continue reading “Review: Essie “Avenue Maintain””
White nails: A do or don’t?
I’ll admit, I’ve never been a fan of white nails. Even back in 2009 when everyone and their mother (yes I’m looking at you, Kris Jenner) was sporting the milky hue after it was worn all over the Chanel runway, I still did not find it flattering! And Chanel could never do wrong! But with my upcoming Los Angeles trip approaching, I just wanted a fresh and somewhat neutral color, so I gave Essie’s “Blanc” a try! Review: American Apparel’s “Mannequin” Nail Polish
After a few years of wild and colorful nail trends, it’s nice to go back to the basics once in a while, and what better way to do that than with a complimentary nude color? Even as a loyal Essie fan, I must say that their wide selection of nude colors are never opaque enough for my liking. Most of their nude shades require several coats just to cover up the actual nail from showing through, and as any nail polish lover knows, it’s never smart to apply more than 2 coats. So I had to look elsewhere for the “perfect nude shade.” Continue reading “Review: American Apparel’s “Mannequin” Nail Polish”
How To: Lana Del Rey Nails
I don’t think it’s possible to google “Stiletto Nails” and not have a picture of Lana come up. (Seriously though, try it). That being said, how perfect is she? I couldn’t resist painting my nails like hers, and thought I would share my quick and easy tutorial on how to achieve this design.

Review: Essie’s “Leading Lady”
As I mentioned in a previous review of Essie’s “Butler Please,” the other color I love in their Winter 2012 collection is “Leading Lady.” This color reminds me of Dorothy’s shoes from The Wizard of Oz and just Christmas time in general. I already can’t wait to paint my nails again with this color in December. Continue reading “Review: Essie’s “Leading Lady””
Review: Essie’s “Butler Please”

Essie’s Winter 2012 Collection is nothing short of spectacular. Between Butler Please and Leading Lady, this collection couldn’t be any more perfect for the chilly winter months. Continue reading “Review: Essie’s “Butler Please””
How To: Cartoon Character Nails
We all know that moment where we have all the nail polish, tools, and art pens all ready to create a masterpiece on our nails, but despite having everything we need in front of us, the inspiration is missing. It’s kind of like writers block. Shall we call it…nails block? Continue reading “How To: Cartoon Character Nails”
