Summer 2016 Beauty Essentials
Just like outfits, beauty essentials are interchangable with the seasons. Summer is officially upon us, and it’s time to round up all the best beauty products for the upcoming sunny months.

The Products

1. Made in the Shade Powder Foundation with SPF ($24)
One of the most crucial makeup products to update with each new season is foundation. Thankfully, I was given the Made in the Shade lightweight foundation to try, and now consider it the best coverage for the hot Summer weather. It’s a mineral powder foundation, which is great because liquid and mousse foundations tend to melt with the higher temperatures. The unique formula offers 26 SPF to help protect from the sun’s harmful rays and toxins. Although it’s lightweight, it also contains enough coverage to color correct any discoloration as well as conceal imperfections. Buy at Dermaflage.com.

2. Tata Harper Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in “Very Naughty” ($36)
In keeping up with the idea of lightweight makeup for Summer, I highly recommend Tata Harper’s Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint. It doesn’t have a heavy formula, so it’s great for wearing in the hotter temperatures. The tint gives your lips and cheeks a natural flush of color, while also combining the latest in anti-aging skincare technology. I love that it comes in a variety of colors, and I have chosen the color “Very Naughty”, a classic ruby-red with a glossy finish for this beauty round-up. Buy at Nordstrom.

3. Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in “Back to Fuchsia” ($6.99)
The Summer season is all about rocking bright lipstick shades, which is why the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in “Back to Fuchsia” is a must-have. What’s so great about the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipsticks are their creamy, rich formulas that reduce lip dryness without compromising color. The lightweight formula is filled with pure color that will give your lips that magazine editorial look we all aspire to recreate. Buy at Ulta.

4. It Haircare 12 in One Amazing Leave in Treatment ($15.99)
I was recently gifted with a box of popular products to try, and one of my personal favorites was the It Haircare 12-in-one Leave In Treatment. It’s aptly named “12-in-One” as it restores 12 common hair concerns which include split ends, frizz, breakage, and more. In the Summer months, hair tends to be exposed to more damage causing influencers such as the sun, and this treatment is a must-have to keep hair revitalized and healthy. The luxurious formula is infused with Abyssinian Oil, which gives hair an enviable shine that embodies a healthy, youthful look that anyone would especially strive for in the Summertime. Buy at ithairproducts.com.

5. Nature’s Gate Aqua Vegan Sunscreen SPF 50 ($8.99)
If this list was numbered by importance, than the Nature’s Gate Aqua Vegan Sunscreen would be #1! Sunscreen is the absolute most important and crucial beauty product for the hot, sunny season. What I love so much about the Nature’s Gate Vegan Sunscreen is not only the high SPF of 50, but it’s moisturizing formula composed of chamomile and shea butter. There is also an added touch of rosemary which helps to soothe skin from sun-exposure. The Nature’s Gate Sunscreen is also available in other SPF’s. Buy at Walgreens.

6. Lancome Belle De Teint Elixir ($38)
Although we all want to lay outside to achieve that sunkissed glow, the sun’s UV rays are harmful to our skin in the long run. That being said, the Lancome Belle De Teint Elixir is the perfect Summer must-have to give skin both a natural glow and golden finish. The three-phase formula blends together with a few shakes, and once applied onto skin, creates a bronzed radiance of color. The formula is lightweight and hydrating, so it’s also particularly great for Summer. Buy at Ulta.

7. Ahava Deadsea Plants Firming Body Cream ($39)
One of the other products I was gifted in my beauty box was the Ahava Deadsea Plants Firming Body Cream. I was immediately impressed with it’s effectiveness and nourishing formula, but then as the weather began heating up, I realized what a must-have this product is for Summer. The silky formula contains anti-aging as well as anti-glycation ingredients that work together to recover skin firmness and improve elasticity. The cream is formulated to define the body’s contours while also repairing Collagen and overall tone. Because the sun is the #1 contributor to aging skin, I find this Firming Cream essential to use during Summer when skin is most vulnerable. Buy at Ahavaus.com.

8. Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray ($5.99)
The last (but certainly not least) Summer beauty must-have is the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray. If you aren’t lucky enough to achieve a natural beach wave (from an actual salty beach), this spray is the next best thing. The salon formula contains sea salt and sea kelp which helps to add texture to hair while also separating strands. I personally like to curl my hair with a wand, and then spritz this spray throughout the middle and ends of my hair to add definition as well as a more natural wavy look. This product, as well as the rest of the Not Your Mother’s brand is also super affordable, making it one of my recommended Summer must-have beauty essentials. Buy at Walgreens.
