Back to School Beauty Essentials

Summer’s almost over and you know what that means! Back to school! Whether you’re headed back to another year of high school, or your next semester in college, I have all the best beauty essentials that will get you through it (and beautifully I might add!)

The Essentials

1. Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Lip Balm ($2.97): Whether you’re going back to college or high school, having chapstick with you at all times is crucial. Burt’s Bees has always been my favorite chapstick, and this new hydrating lip balm they came out with is absolutely amazing. It contains coconut oil, shea butter and pear extract to hydrate your lips, and has a sweet tropical flavor that is highly addicting! Buy at Walmart.com.

2. Dentek Fresh & White Silky Whitening Floss Picks ($2.99): There are so many floss pick products on the market but I honestly consider Dentek to be the best. I’ve tried a lot of different floss picks, experiencing everything from a not-so-tasty floss to having it not remove all the plaque because of the poor quality. But Dentek floss picks have always worked best for me and I highly recommend this particular version of them since they promote extra whitening power. Buy at Drugstore.com.

3. TRUE Isaac Mizrahi Hydrating Mist ($24.00): Putting on a good layer of foundation before school in the morning doesn’t always ensure it’s going to look flawless by your afternoon class. What I love about the Isaac Mizrahi Hydrating Mist is it’s ability to keep your foundation in check! Not only does it set your foundation and powder, but you can bring it with you to refresh your makeup throughout the day. Buy at isaacmizrahi.com.

4. Rimmel 25H Foundation ($6.97): For the last few weeks I’ve been using this foundation and for a drugstore brand, it absolutely delivers what it promises in the name. Aptly named “25 Hour Foundation”, this foundation truly does last all day. I have always used high-end brands of foundation costing me almost $50 for every bottle, but in my opinion, this foundation works just as well. It blends in beautifully and really does last all day long. Buy at Walmart.com.

5. Sexy Hair H2No Dry Shampoo ($18.95): Sometimes school can get hectic and there isn’t time to wash your long locks every single day. Dry shampoo is truly one of the best beauty discoveries in my opinion and I rely on this stuff more than I would like to admit. I have a lot of different dry shampoos but have found the Sexy Hair H2No to be one of my favorites. Having a pleasant scent is such an important factor in choosing a good dry shampoo because removing any dirt/grease is only half the battle. This dry shampoo smells super fresh and is said to keep a blowout looking fresh after 3 days. Buy at Ulta.com.

6. Not Your Mothers Volumizing Hairspray ($4.74): This hairspray is honestly amazing. There’s so many hairsprays out there that make your hair sticky and sometimes flat, so I always like to promote ones that I find to be both effective and slightly inexpensive. Containing apple blossom and bamboo, this volumizing hairspray smells deliciously fruity while also giving hair a firm hold (even in the humidity!) Buy at Walmart.com.

7. SOHO Summertime Radness Mesh Organizer ($9.99): I remember bringing half my makeup stash with me to high school and remember always using SOHO brand bags! Storing your makeup in a durable and cute bag is oh so important (am I wrong?)! I love that this SOHO bag is made of mesh, because you can see everything that’s in your bag. It also has a super cute coral flower design. I recently did a review of another similar SOHO makeup bag that is perfect for travel. Buy at sohobeauty.com.

8. Pond’s Original Fresh Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($6.49): With everything on the go along with school, sometimes taking off your makeup at the end of the night is the last thing you want to do. I’ve always relied on the Pond’s cleansing towelettes to quickly take my makeup off, especially if I’m too lazy to bust out the clarisonic brush & cleanser at the end of the night. These wipes are both soft and textured, so they’re great for removing eye makeup that can sometimes take forever to wash off. Buy at Target.com.
