Industry leader and Sally Hansen Ambassador, Tracylee created this custom ombre nail design to complement Olivia’s glamorous black and red ensemble. “I love the element of theatricality the Gala calls for,” explains Tracylee. “It gives me an opportunity to create statement nails that bring Chinese aesthetics to the next level.”

What you’ll need

1. Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in “Red My Lips”
2. Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out
3. Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat
4. A toothpick
5. A small makeup sponge
6. Q-tips and nail polish remover

Steps

1. Begin by painting your nails with one coat of Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in “Red My Lips.” Let it dry completely.
2. While you’re waiting, pour a small amount of both “Red My Lips” and Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails “Black Out” polish onto a plate. They should be immediately side by side. Blend the two colors in the middle where their edges meet.
3. Dip a small makeup sponge into the blended polish and then dab the sponge directly over your nail. Use light strokes to apply the gradient polish evenly.
4. Dip a fine Q-tip in nail polish remover and clean up any polish that got onto the skin.
5. Once your nails are completely dry, apply Sally Hansen’s Big Matte Top Coat to seal in the ombre.
6. Allow the top coat to dry and voila!
