Last year, consultant Karen Harvey founded the Fashion Tech Forum that brought together leaders in both the fashion and tech industries. In today’s modern world, the two sectors are very much becoming more and more intertwined, and the Fashion Tech Forum played a big role in achieving the integration between them
This year marked the second annual Fashion Tech Forum and guests included top industry leaders including Joe Zee from Yahoo! Style, Brian Henke from Jimmy Choo, and one of my personal favorites and mega girl-boss, Emily Weiss from Into the Gloss.
Emily Weiss (pictured above) was my favorite panel of the day, as she spoke about her journey into the beauty industry. Being unhappy with the industry, Emily decided to launch a blog (Into the Gloss) and later a line of beauty products (Glossier) that aimed to cater to the average consumer. Being able to both afford the products and knowing how to use them was Emily’s goal for her target market, and is also why she has become so successful in this endeavor.
